So if you wondered why Easter falls on different days each year wonder no more. Easter falls on the first Sunday that follows the first full moon after the spring equinox. This particular full moon is called the Paschal moon.
This reminds me of at least too other things.
The first is that it is said that many if not most of Christian High Holy Days were actually used to replaced the pagan holidays that were being celebrated.
The second is that Chinese New Year also has a moon connection. The Chinese New Year happens on the first new moon after winter solstice. It is sometimes called the Lunar New Year.
